Use Only Natural Means for Hair Care

Many of us would gladly make this slogan our life claim. It is really great that cosmetic producers start making new lines for hair based on natural components. But even modern products contain enough chemicals, preservatives and artificial coloring pigments. What shall we do? At least from time to time please ourselves and our hair with natural products.

Practically every procedure for hair, from washing to styling, can be enriched with natural components. Let me start with coloring.

Hair Coloring: Seven Natural Pigments

1. Henna. This is the best way to change the color of your hair. Many of those who have used black henna say that the result was even better than regular coloring in beauty salons. To the advantages of henna we can add the fact that after using this coloring pigment hair becomes soft, shiny and healthy. According to all those factors, we can really put henna to the first place among natural coloring pigments; it strengthens hair and allows achieving a huge variety of tones and colors.

2. Lemon and chamomile. This way of coloring will not help dark hair, but fair hair will be grateful for it. This is a great way of doing a highlighting or lightening. Rinse your hair with chamomile decoction and fresh lemon juice. After that it is necessary to spend some time in the sun, at least 40 minutes. Highlighting and lightening effect will be guaranteed! Just don’t forget to protect your skin and eyes from sunlight.

3. Coloring shampoos. Though it is not a pure natural product, I need to say that they do not contain aggressive chemicals. Therefore, changing the color of your hair with their help is quite a healthy procedure.

4. Black coffee and black tea. These beverages color not only our teeth or our clothes when they get on it. It is possible to use their coloring abilities for hair. Rinse your hair with a decoction of black tea or coffee, and an aristocratic woody accent is guaranteed. However, it will be gone when you wash your head next time.

5. Red tea. Karkade tea and hibiscus tea – those sorts of tea will give your hair a reddish tone.

6. Colors of the new generation. It should probably be mentioned that starting with 2009 the majority of producers of hair colors for home coloring have in their collections products with a minimum content of chemicals. Actually, they are not 100% natural coloring pigments, but it is possible to find a maximum safe hair color. Look for marks "ammonia-free hair color" and "peroxide-free". Therefore, now it is possible to do safe coloring in beauty salons, too.

7. Rosemary and sage. It’s the most natural way for grey hair coloring. Mix rosemary and sage decoctions and wash you hair with this mix. If you want a stronger effect, keep the mix on your hair for several hours until it dries.
