Oily Hair Care Tips

Owners of oily hair often complain about the difficulty of caring for them and the inability to make this type of hair look healthy and beautiful. But do not despair, because with the right hair care you can achieve significant improvement in the look of your hair.

The reason of extra hair oiliness
Most often, high hair oiliness is due to genetics, but there are also a number of reasons trigging the activation of sebum production: nervousness, chronic fatigue, stress, unbalanced diet, improper shampoo, etc. To normalize the work of sebaceous glands, it is important to make your diet and pick up means for hair care properly, preferring PH-neutral and ultra soft shampoos that can be used quite often.

Useful habits
- Healthy hair begins with a balanced diet, which involves the use of a sufficient quantity of fresh vegetables and fruit, allowing withdrawing toxins from the body and normalizing the work of gastrointestinal tract.

- In addition to proper nutrition and hair care, hair health and their beautiful appearance depend on a person’s lifestyle. It is necessary to sleep at least eight hours a day, try to avoid stressful situations, and use additional supplements containing zinc, calcium, vitamins, fatty acids, and other nutrients.

- Never use a metal comb, especially if your hair is often tangled. Pay attention to the comb teeth, they should be rounded and smooth.

- With oily hair it is not recommended to use a styling gel, since it makes your hair even greasier and gives them an unhealthy appearance.

- Hair cosmetics on the basis of oils should also be used with caution, because their use does increase the weight of the hair and makes your hair less volume.

How to wash and dry oily hair properly
For washing greasy hair you should not use a lot of shampoo or apply it directly to hair. A small amount of shampoo should be diluted with water, foamed, and only then put on your hair. In order not to provoke an increased production of sebum, you should not wash your hair with hot water, or dry with a hairdryer. It is recommended to complete hair washing by rinsing with cold water.

Natural remedies for oily hair
- It is useful to apply a clay mask to greasy hair before shampoo; clay should be mixed with vinegar diluted with water. The mask is applied to the scalp and left for ten minutes, then washed off with warm water. Then wash your hair with shampoo.

- You can also add 3-4 drops of essential oil of orange, lavender, or sage in your shampoo. These oils have tonic and antiseptic effects on the oily hair.

- For rinsing hair, you can use a mixture of two drops of oil of thyme or rosemary, or any binding plants, 1 tablespoon of vinegar or lemon juice, which is dissolved in a liter of mineral water.
